Way to reach Sikkim from Ahmedabad
You have two options to reach Sikkim from Ahmedabad. The first and more convenient option to reach Sikkim is via Flight. You can book a flight from Ahmedabad airport directly to Bagdogra Airport with either Spicejet or IndiGo. This direct flight to Bagdogra airport will take anything between 4 and 6 hours. However, in case there is scarcity in availability of a direct flight to Bagdogra airport the next option is to avail a flight from Ahmedabad airport to Kolkata airport. The time which will take to travel to Kolkata from Ahmedabad via flight, will nearly be 3 hours. From Kolkata airport you can either avail a flight to Bagdogra airport, which will take you nearly 1 hour. Else, you can avail a train to NJP from Kolkata to Siliguri. We recommend you book a ticket directly to Bagdogra airport well in advance, for better convenience and is also a cost-effective option.
You can also for a second option which is travel via train from Ahmedabad, in popular trains like Guwahati Express or Kamakhya Express, which are available on a weekly basis. This journey will take you nearly a little over 24 hours.
There is also a third way to reach Sikkim, which is to travel by road and the trip will take somewhere nearly 43 hours. This will be a tiring journey and we recommend to avoid opting for this option as the tour in Sikkim is going to be one which is arduous, at such an altitude.
