There is no governing authority (HRACC) in the region to assign star ratings to hotels. Therefore, room standards may differ from those found in Tier-I or Tier-II cities.

A Government-approved photo ID proof is mandatory for each guest at the time of booking (for permit processing) and also upon arrival.Please note : Aadhar Card and PAN are not accepted as valid address proof.Accepted forms of ID include Driving License, Voter ID, and Passport.

By default, standard category rooms are arranged during bookings unless guests specifically request an upgrade.

As per Sikkim Tourism, permits are not granted for infants below 2 years of age for travel to North Sikkim. Hence, travel to North Sikkim is not permitted with infants.

In case of triple-sharing rooms, an extra mattress will be provided at the accommodation. Due to infrastructure limitations, most properties in the North-East region offer basic amenities only.

As per North-East travel guidelines, vehicles operate on a point-to-point basis only and are not available on disposal. Any deviation from the planned itinerary may incur additional charges, unless caused by unavoidable situations such as bad weather, roadblocks, political/social unrest, VVIP movements, or government transport restrictions. Please consult with us in advance for any changes to avoid inconvenience.

Optional Sightseeing (North Sikkim): Mt. Katao, Kalapathar, Chopta Valley, and Zero Point can be visited at an extra cost of INR 4000 to INR 9000 per vehicle per spot, based on the season. Visits to these points are subject to permit availability, which is mandatory for both Indian and foreign nationals.

Foreign Nationals traveling in groups of two or more are permitted to visit Lachung and Tsomgo Lake only with a mandatory Indian guide. Solo foreign travelers are not allowed to visit North Sikkim. A foreign national with an Indian spouse is considered a solo traveler unless the spouse holds an OCI Card

If permits for North Sikkim are cancelled or denied due to adverse weather, political issues, or government restrictions, Sikkim Tourism will arrange alternative sightseeing for safety. In such cases, any additional accommodation costs must be borne by the guest, as pre-booked hotel bookings are non-refundable due to strict cancellation policies. This applies even when hotels are booked independently.

Between June and September, heavy rainfall is common. Real-time itinerary changes may occur due to landslides, roadblocks, or other natural disruptions.

Travelers are strongly advised to avoid alcohol or intoxicants, especially at high altitudes, as these can cause serious respiratory problems or dehydration, and medical facilities are limited in remote regions.

Sumo/Bolero vehicles are generally not allowed in the main markets of Sikkim. If you choose such vehicles, pickup/drop will be arranged at the nearest permissible point, and walking or hiring a local union cab (at your own cost) may be required to reach your destination.

During peak seasons, pickups and drops may be delayed due to traffic congestion, weather, political unrest, or road closures. Your patience and understanding are appreciated.

Due to power shortages, the use of electric room heaters is restricted by the government. While some hotels may provide heaters on request, this is subject to availability and additional charges.

Any change in itinerary is subject to weather conditions, political developments, or government orders.Sikkim Tourism and its local partners reserve the right to rearrange the itinerary as required for safety and feasibility

Any sightseeing point missed due to time constraints, late starts, delayed permits, traffic, natural calamities, or any other reasons beyond the control of Sikkim Tourism, shall not be eligible for a refund or discount.
